Michael Fusco was born in Delanco, New Jersey to an Irish-Italian family where good food and entertaining were a way of life. Michael began working in restaurants as a youth. Starting as a dishwasher and advancing to work in a country club and for a small caterer. He enrolled at Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island where he earned an AOS Degree in Culinary Arts and a BS Degree in Food Service Management. Michael’s talents earned him a scholarship as a teaching assistant. His co-op education experience was completed at Newton Marriot in Massachusetts.
Michael moved to Tulsa upon graduation. He worked for eight years at Bodeans Seafood Restaurant, an intimate fine-dining restaurant as Chef General Manager. The business at Bodeans grew each year under Michael’s management. Michael opened Flavors Restaurant in April 1996 and managed its growth to a successful venture until may 2007. Michael’s exceptional culinary ability combined with his successful record enabled him to open Michael Fusco’s Riverside Grill and make it one of Tulsa’s Finest Restaurant.
